The rainfalls associated with Cyclone Idai caused widespread damages to properties, farms and infrastructure such as Bridges, Roads, Telecommunications and power facilities across 15 districts of Malawi.
Led by the Department of Relief, Emergency and Disaster Management, IFFD embarked on a fundraising mission in order to raise funds assist the victims of this natural disaster. Alhamdulillah, the campaign realised R63,150 (+MK3,15 Million).
These funds were used to buy various items for distribution to the victims. Over 250 parcels were made, each parcel consisting of 5kg* white Rice, dry beans, sugar, soap and 1* Blanket. These parcels were then distributed on Sunday, 23 Sha'baan 1440 to the community of GVH Chimombo in Phalombe district. This area, apart from being over 80% Muslim, the chief himself (Chimombo) is also a Muslim.
We make du'aa to Allah to accept the intention of those that contributed towards this mission and alleviate the suffering of his slaves worldwide, aameen!
