TWO YEAR TRAINING IN CERTIFICATE IN PHARMACY
The College of Medicine, a Constituent College of the University of Malawi has been consulted by the Ministry of Health (PIU) to facilitate the development and accreditation of Pharmacy Assistant Program at Ekwendeni College of Health Sciences and St. Joseph College of Nursing. This is a new program which is being introduced in the two colleges to increase the number of Pharmacy Assistants in Malawi. These Pharmacy Assistants are being earmarked to serve in various health facilities in Malawi, more especially in rural health centers.
Therefore the College Of Medicine is pleased to announce a Training Opportunity for the academic year 2017 – 2018 for Pharmacy Assistant, tenable at Ekwendeni in Mzimba and St Joseph in Chiradzulu. The course is open for both male and female applicants, with a minimum age of 18 and a maximum age of 30.
Course Duration: 2 years
Award: Certificate in Pharmacy
Tenable: Ekwendeni College of Health Sciences and St. Joseph’s College of Nursing
Applicants must have Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) or its equivalent credit in at least two of science subjects Biology, Mathematics, or Physical Science. Candidate should also have a credit or strong pass (7 points) in English and an aggregate of between 24 and 36 points in MSCE or its equivalent
Entrance examination and mode of registration:
Entrance (Aptitude test) examination will be administered as follows:

Time 8:00 am.
i. Northern Region: Ekwendeni College of Health Sciences
ii. Central Region: Bwaila Secondary School in Lilongwe
iii. Southern Region: St Joseph Nursing College Assembly Hall
Registration for all qualifying prospective candidates shall be conducted from 8:00 am on 25th October 2017. “No registration no entrance examination”.
A non refundable application fee of MK 10,000.00 should be paid in advance before the 24th October, 2017 of the test, into the following account:

On the day of registration the candidate should bring the following:
1. Original Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) or Notification of results
2. One passport size photograph
3. Identity Card (Passport, Driving Licence, MANEB ID or voter registration ID)
4. Original Banking deposit slip
Any missing document from the list above will disqualify the candidate from registration.
